now, now. don't cry just yet, kiddies. red didn't vanish forever.

apologies on the lack of percievable updates. my life's been hectic over the past couple of months, and my internet access has been...shall we say, "privilaged," at best. access to a scanner has been no better, so i have no artistic updates tonight, but thanks to the miracle and magic of word processing, anyone actually bothering to read this is about to be hit full-force with the updates on my personal life.

y'know, since anyone's actually read this journal from the moment i got on DA. or something like that.

let's start with the good news.

first and foremost, i now have a girlfriend. oh yes, ye nerds, there is hope yet...hell hath frozen over and split apart and lo and behold there was beheld a girlfriend. her name is Samie, she lives about an hour away (thank you, Lady Fortune, for allowing my shitty little Saturn to make fair gas mileage), i see her once a week and call her daily, and i thank God every chance i remember that i could meet someone so special. sparing all the mushy details and the sex life, suffice to say she's absolutely, positively brilliant. i love her with all my heart.

as for the job at Dillard's, it's still going fairly strong. i'm competent now, i'd like to think, and while i still have trouble with my hawks and handsaws, i'm doing fairly well on my pots and luggage. anyone in the general vicinity of Jefferson Mall anytime in the near whenever is encouraged to come pay a visit. i'm there nearly every day, mostly in the evenings.

in perhaps a bold move, i'm now looking at moving out of the house. leaving the nest has certain benefts...like porn. more importantly, reliable internet access, and hence updates here and to my artistic and gaming careers in general. once the deal becomes finalized, you should see things flowing in at a steady rate. until then, suffice to say it's enough knowledge that i'm moving in the first place.

oh, and i have a nice hat that i wear everywhere now. yahtzee would throw a fit, but aside from that it keeps my head dry and has my coworkers referring to me as Indiana Jones, which i find to be acceptable enough.

progress on my games has been more impressive than usual, since i've knocked the projects in the works down to basically three. first and foremost is BDGE, boosted by its sequel, also in the works (codenamed "Twilight Hour"). in all honesty work on the sequel has done more than anything; the depth i have to go into on the characters' backgrounds has forced me to add more depth to the boy's story in BDGE. however, plans for making the sequel professional-grade quite well ensures that BDGE sees the first coding done, so fear not.

Free Agent is also in the works, but not as high a priority at this time. possessing enemies and ganking their abilities seemed a great idea athe time, and still does somewhat, but it makes me feel that FA would shift away from a platformer and more toward a puzzler, or would at length cease to be amusing once Scratch is forced to fight on his own, and both possibilities have forced me to reevaluate the direction the game is going in. such an overhaul would require an amount of work that, with BDGE so fresh on my pallete, i would not be able to give it, and hence i will save it until i can give it the drive it deserves.

good news done. bad news now?

essentially thus: with my internet availability questionable, so too is my presence on DA at any given time, and thus expect few updates from me for now. rest assured, there will come a time when red rises again, it just shan't be today.

it's late now, and I have working out to do. gonna work off some belly.
